At its August 19 meeting, the Boston Planning and Development Agency (BPDA) voted to designate Habitat for Humanity Boston as the developer of 104 Walter for four units of affordable ownership housing.
Part of the BPDA's reasoning for selecting Habitat is that the design reflects the desires expressed by the community: "The proposed design maintains and upgrades the existing home as part of the site’s heritage and profile.The design of the new building is inspired by the existing barn. The proposed landscaping plan thoughtfully buffers the Property from the adjacent urban wild at 108 Walter Street."
